Treatment

Countless touches characterise manufacturing within deisl parkettmanufaktur. That starts with manual stacking of the delivered wood within the lumber hall, where the planks are air-drying slowly. The longer that lasts, the more gently the technical drying within the chamber can be effected later on.

Dried, the lumber packages are brought into the climate hall, where they are sorted and stored according to the quality. For manufacturing a certain floor, the appropriate package is undergone a humidity control before and it's brought directly to planing, afterwards.

After planing and profiling, approx. every 50th plank is measured very thoroughly, fitting accuracy and angle are checked. If the limit of tolerance isn't exceeded, cracks are obturated by the help of exact colour-coordinated cement mass. Planks with too wide openings are either shortened or dropped out.

The actual surface treatment begins at the bottom of the plank. There, the boards are cut in for the patented stabilising system. Afterwards, the surface is ground, brushed and, in the majority of cases, oiled too. For that, an oil of highest quality is used, which dries out when having contact with air – certainly without bonding accelerator.

For achieving own shades and for taking the tension out of the wood, kinds of wood with enough tanning agent can also become boiled or steamed. When boiling the planks, they are laying 4 – 6 weeks in a water quench with a temperature between 60 and 70° C. When steaming them, they are exposed a saturated steam atmosphere.
